More recently I've been fishing deeper waters for tilefish, 700-1200 ft with 3-6 lbs of lead. I was looking around the forum and found the phenix hybrid 40-100 and the UC Raptor to be mentioned frequently for lead over 3 pounds. If anyone has anything to add to this, I'm open to opinions. I would assume an rod using this much lead is practically a broom stick, but if it is possible I would prefer a rod with some bend to it.
    Thanks again,
    David

Ask Mike Garone, he is a very good builder and I know he does a fair amount of Tilefish fishing.
