BNZ posted a custom Hots Drift Tune that he made. Be sure to check it out in the jigging section. It's pretty cool. I thought I'd start a post here to see if others are customizing their jigs. If you have, post some pics!

I went through my customized jig pics and posted some below. Some I've posted before and some are new. They fall into two categories, blanks I've bought off fleabay and painted my own pattern - those are the mahi and shad jigs. The others are jigs I have but never used because I didn't like the pattern, so I painted them to increase the chances I'll use it.

    Sweet!
I have that same jäger jig.
I still have it because I don't like the finish either :)
I like what you did to yours though.

Thanks. I used them when Capt took us out to 300ft and recommended we tie on some heavy glow jigs because of the depth and current. They worked really well on some big AJ's, though at that depth I'm sure the paint job had nothing to do with attracting those fish. Ultimately they ended up as shark jewelry. ;)

Thanks. I didn't know what to do with that ugly orange and white jig until I searched SAS Fish ID website. As soon as I found that wrasse and what it's common name is, I knew what pattern to go for...;)
(click link for those of you who aren't familiar with that fish - I wasn't)

    Hello Denis!
I thought we'd lost you,as we have so many others.
I thought about trying to reach other older members. I miss the collection of miscreants we had here several years back.:)
Nice to see you still around .

I had this crazy idea for last year that I never acted upon...may try it for my next aj trip this April.

    Big jig=big fish, right?

My idea was to split ring two 200g turkey sliders together, shrink tubing over the connective split ring, and run two assist hooks on it. This would give me a 22", 400g mega jig, presumably catching me a state record aj...that simple, right?

Or buy one of these, but that's not custom unless you paint it. What do you think, blue spotted cornetfish pattern? ;)

    Why not connect 3 jigs
and catch the World Record AJ instead of the state record
    :)

So I had this old profish jig lying around that the finish flaked off so while I was working on my poppers I slapped some foil on it then painted it along side the other lures (see other post in lure building section). A quick and dirty paint job on a unused jig, that I now think would work well for jacks and blackfin this weekend. 20171001_121740.jpg
