When people talk about the peak fishing season in Costa Rica everyone rushes to say that it's December through April, just like the dry season. While that is indeed our peak billfish season, for some reason a lot of anglers think that just because we experience our green season, or rainy season, from May through November that the fishing shuts down completely and we get 24/7 monsoons for seven straight months. That couldn't be farther from the truth as in some corner of the country on one coast or the other we have great fishing 12 months a year down here. The green season months of May-Sept are some of our favorites because we get the most variety offshore and it's the best time of year for meatfish like dorado, tuna, and wahoo. The inshore and bottom fishing also tends to be spectacular, so for all those people who avoid fishing in Costa Rica in the summer months you might want to think again. Pretty much every boat that went out last month came back with tuna or dorado, and most days featured plenty of billfish action as well:

June 1 - Good Day - 3 tuna & boatfull of small dorados
