I haven't been on the boards much, but Congratulations to Kilsong on your new Tackle Store! When the Big E starts running again, I'll need some of those Shibukis!

Also, another congratulations on becoming the new High Poster on 360Tuna! Someone finally surpassed SkeeterRonnie's number of posts.

Thank you for all your informative posts, both here, and on the Noreast board!

Hope to fish with you again in 2009

    Thanks Tom.
I am glad my shop's website is not working yet as I need time to go tuna fishing now. :) One customer called me yesterday from Florida looking for a rod and we ended up talking about fishing. When he showed big grouper and huge wahoo he caught in Crooked Island in Bahama, I couldn't resist to visit there. I am not sure I am making money or spending money by opening a shop. :) Here is a list I promised to visit in a few month.
Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Crooked Island.

Well, I reckon the bright side of this is you get to write off every fishing trip you take and keep a little bit of your money out of Uncle Sam's bank account. You should consider opening up a satelite store down in the florida panhandle, say Destin or there abouts. Lots of money down there and when the new airport opens in P.C. with all those dirrect European flights, maybe there will be more than a handful of us that jig down there. I know the rouges I fish with are slowly but surely changing over to jigging (they are tired of me catching most of the fish and having to wait til I am too tired to use my tackle). Oh yeah, I hope to be making a purchase from you soon.

I need to change my lifestyle. :)

Any estimate of when the website will up and running? Some of us buy 90% of our tackle from websites.:D

I met a merchant specialist from Bank of America today and credit card system should work next week.
The problem of my website is I hired a big company and I couldn' get personal services from them. I am going to show products which I have and which I will have even though they can not order from my website directy for a while, so that customers have pretty good idea how my shop is going to be run. As many products are not available in the near future, I am not in a hurry for the completion of my website.
I got to work with Rob of Zeebaas reels, John of John Baker reels or other suppliers for the improvement as I don't want to sell their products out of box.
I see there is demand of Oea Jiggier 4000P/5000P, but I am afraid to carry them in quantity as Shimano USA don't give any warranty to the Japanese domestic models and it is not easy to get parts. Instead, I am thinking about adding American version Trinidad 40N/40 with custom handles like JM custom handles or original Ocea Jigger handles.
There are many items are to be custom made from fluke(flounder) to tuna and I am going to search around to find new products and test them.
One customer informed that they found killer GT lures and I am trying to find the sources. Another fishing friend tipped me killer custom fluke(flounder) bucktails and I tested myself. As a result I ordered over 3,000 custom fluke bucktails for next year. I am afraid I don't go fishing as I like to do if the shop get busy. But I am enjoying so far. I didn't know there are so many things even though I run a tiny shop. The shipment from Shimano is sitting in the room for two days as I can not find time to check them.

    Kil,
Good luck! You are going to so enjoy this. I gave up the corporate world 3 years ago and started my own business dealing with my second passion - motorcycles! I don't have to tell you what my first passion is. Ha!

I started a website designing and selling accessories for them, worked on it hard the last 3 years. Now we are 6 people strong and I get to go fishing more and still get to enjoy my exotic crotch rockets. :)

If you need any help with getting up there in search engines, holler at me. 6 months after our website launched we were getting 60,000 hits. Now 3 years later we average 1.8 million with 95K+ unique visitors. Best part is that my entire shopping cart solution only cost me $35. :)

Everyone should do it. This is still the land of opportunity if you're willing to work hard. Or in your case...play hard!!! :) :)

Kil, one of my favorite tackle shop near my home is Yo's Tackle in Gardena CA. I can go there and spend hours on end just visiting. The funny thing is that the shop always gives newcomers the impression that it is filled with employees who work there. Some of the guys stay busy helping out customers and even some ring up the sales and handle the money. Actually, only the owner and one employee there but at times seems like there are 6 or more employees. lol

I have a feeling that your shop may develop like this too.

I heard about Yo's Tackle. When I go to West Coast, I like to visit Yo' tackle. Tackle stores are like toy stores for adult. :) Whenever I go to LA, I visit Young's tackle in Palma and talk about fishing in CA with Young.

Thanks for the encouragement. I got to learn how to run a store. :)
I like to be successful, but meanwhile I like to stay as a petit shop so that I can give my personal service to anyone who visit my shop.

I would just like to say that I have now dealt with Kil Song through his store and I have never had such a pleasurable experience. I hope yall all support his enterprise because you will never come across a merchant like him. He is fast, courtious and attentive to all your needs. Good luck Kil, I know you will do well.
