Hahaha! Typed in dicks.com to order gulp on sale. Surprise!!!
Yeah that would work HJ.
Hey Benny so I only caught a few fish on it so far and its been out of the packet for about a week so will see how it holds up over time but it seems to be made from similar materials as Zman so hopefully will last a few trips.
Sounds good Pete Thanks!
Pete, I take a slightly different route than HJ. I like to have at least 8 ounces of weight on lures of this type and go as high as 16 ounces on the big squid bulbs.
I usually use the trolling weights in the top pic because they are always available. The type of trolling weight in the bottom pic is the one I prefer because of the shape which more weight at the head of the lure.
Yeah Kim, I would certainly consider that weight sinker for deeper drops such as 100m or more.
Squid baits came today! Played around and inserted a 1.5” glow light. I’ll give them a try on a Nantucket monster fluke trip. Should be the perfect test to see how they hold up.
Nice one Benny, now that's upstairs for thinking
Thanks Pete! They stretch really easy and close up tight after putting the glow stick in. Bought a assorted pack of sticks on eBay, so I have plenty to play with.
i got those, 120g, 150g, 180g, 300g, 400g all glowing zebra stripe, sea falcon "slow squid". it caught the fish that won the pool on the yankee caps a week or so ago, blackgrouper and wahoo.
i even sent a bunch to Pierre to pnama last year
Sheker, do you have a link for those squid bulbs?
I looked at a bunch of sites and everyone is out of stock. Seems like most shops are overseas but still no stock. Maybe Ray can lead us in the right direction.
here is the pic of the squid and the wahoo and the black grouper that won the pool in the yankee caps. thanks to rob henry and cleon for the pics.
look at the jig the mate is holding
also got this pic of a quid on a mutton, they say muttons are finicky. thanks to shannon for the pic.
