I'm thinking about making a striper rod for casting docs and big swim baits. I want a blank around 7' 6" and under $150. I will probably go with a Diawa Saltist 4000 for the reel with 30 lb braid. Any recommendations?

Depends on what you want to spend on a blank. I would look at a musky blank or rod geeks. reasonably priced, solid blanks
