Dave I also liked Lung Fung - it was pretty close to hotel, everything was fresh very good, cheap too. From there you can walk or another $3 cab ride or so to the Japanese Seafood market. Other than the fried chicken feet we ate it all :)

Peter will email you back on those Salas, you don't want to be without them. Very productive, easy to fish, inexpensive compared to some of the other stuff we throw. Matt Salas and I came up with some custom colors that only Tacklenow.com will have. I highly recommend the Pink/Silver Back and Bleeding ******** patterns.

Dim Sum is steamed, meaning cooked.
So, its not "bait"
That would be sushi :D

Lung Fung has really gone down hill with quality in the past few years.
Cheap prices, but poor quality.
If you have limited experience with Dim Sum, this place will do.
If you have eaten Dim Sum at a decent restaurant in the past,
you will find this place only slightly better than frozen Dim Sum from the freezer.

Golden Unicorn, weekends only,
during the week, its nothing special.
On the weekends, its ok.

The hidden Dim Sum gem in Panama is
Restaurante Sunly
This is where the locals in the know go to eat.

Enjoy

Ask the cab to take you to the DO-IT-CENTER

Personally, I would skip the Dim Sum alltogether,
its really not that incredible in PTY, decent at best.

So many other better choices to choose from,
why Dim Sum ?
Monkey see, monkey do ?

If you were to visit China,
would you be looking for Italian food ?
So why look for a Chinese in a Latin Country,
when there is so much more expertiese in Latin cuisine in this part of the world. (yes, I know there is large chinese population in pty)

Makes even less sense when these guys from the east coast,
like from the new york area go hunting for Dim Sum in Panama City,
WHY ??? Whats the point ?
There is much better Dim Sum in NYC than PTY,
why go out for something that you can have at home,
especially if its not as good as home.

Like coming to PTY from NYC and looking for Pizza,
pointless and clueless.
Money see, Monkey do.

I fish here, I eat here, I do this.
Just like everyone else before you.
 :D

Fishyhat,

I live in South Texas where the Latin Cuisine is very prominent. My next trip to Panama I would like to eat some of things that I eat at home. I normally stop off at a taco joint every morning. I'm used to eating tacos with tongue (Lengua), Tripas (small intestine), brain (sesos), barbacoa (Meat on cow head) and an occasional bowl of menudo (small intestines).

Where would I find these kind of tacos in Panama City?

Also, have you ever seen chicken beaks served in Panama. It's the little piece of meat that the beak of a chicken surrounds. It takes a lot of chicken beaks to make a meal.(a few hundred) I've only had them once (border town between Texas and Mexico) but it was a memorable experience. Chicken Beak soup and chicken beaks added to guacamole is the only way I've eaten them. Add some frog legs and quail with above and you are very satisfied.:)

One more thing. Do they serve chicken feet in Panama?
