IMO Yozuri superbraid is hard to beat. Just as thin as the top brands with great strength, no overseas prices and easy to find. Also has a few color choices white, green, blue.

I’ll check and see if I have JB solid 50 and and compare it to superbraid 50.

I like JB, but can't imaginge that's the best stuff on the market.
I love me some Sufix 832! Got it from 20-65lb the 50lb is .014” (.34mm) and supposedly breaks around 75lb. I can’t verify that because my scale is only rated to 50lb and broke @ 70lbs but it is vey smooth and strong and is supposed to be the most abrasion resistant according to an article I saw a while back (that’s why I switched all my lines to it). It also comes in Ghost White, which is my preferred color (though I do wish they offered a metered line).
I personally only use two braids......JB hollow on spinning reels (casts best) or Cortland C16 on conventional. Neither has let me down.
I am a big fan of shimano maxcuatro
Something I noticed about MaxQuatro, their lines are the same diameter as the next lower rated regular PowerPro, and they also break around the same rating. EG: 50lb Max is .32mm and breaks around 60lb. 40lb PowerPro is .32mm and breaks around 60lb. Interesting.
I like J Brais 8X for #50 applications because the #30 J Braid 8X has an ABS of around #50,so that's what I use. Spinner popping I use mostly JBHC, slow pitch I have been using Ocean Silk,

I know a lot of guys recommend yozuri superbraid for slow pitch. I bought some 30 lb for my surf reels and started having break offs when casting. Thought it might be my rod but it does it on every surf rod I cast. Went with izorline and the issue went away.

Izorline or Cortland
I have used it all all my light stuff over here in Australia all under 12lb and have not had a problem especially regarding wind knots.

Haha! I’m sorry about that.

Prospec has always been great. Mainly fishing #65-80-100 with live bait and jigs but I would think that #50 should be just as good.

Maxcuatro if you're going to be casting more than jigging.

Sufix 832 is great too. I just don't like their #50. Sort of surprising. I've tried a ton of 832 tests between #10-50 on a bunch of different reels. I had #50 on two reels at two different times and just didn't like how it was coming off the reel at all. Didn't seem to be that smooth. Took the line off both of those reels. Maybe just one of those funny things, I guess.
I also fish yozuri superbraid. Great stuff 🙏

Try Berkley Whiplash, thinnest line on market. 80lb is only 0.23mm
