Hi @scubaarchery, thanks for the quick reply. It looks like the Van Staal 325 is out of stock, any other suggestions? Ideally something comparable in cost to the Finn nor Lethal 100?
The mighty fish has them but they are $324. Not sure if they will have a sale…

Unless you are planning to work out get yourself something you can cast or jig all night long and enjoy for close to the same price . Look into a new generation Shimano Spheros SW 10-14k and thank me from the bottom of your heart later . Also a Cabo 80 will do the trick without any questions and will be lighter and smoother than the Finnor Lethal 100. I caught tuna up to 100 lbs on the first generation Cabo 80 and it handle it no problems, the new ones have been upgraded and have more drag . Not a fan of the look of the handles on the new ones but that’s just aesthetics

I fish the New Buccaneer a couple of times a year so I asked Captain Matt about some tips and techniques to catch more fish. Although this is a tuna trip, we get to bottom fish on the way out and vermillion are a target species…. This is a rig he uses for beeliner to catch several at a time!

I asked Matt how he rigs the Frenzy flying fish and he took the time to show me. These are not always productive but this time of year when the yellows are feeding on flyers, they can be deadly. If these videos are helpful, please help me by subscribing, liking and leaving a comment!

Hey ScubaArchery - have a question for you on a different topic: Where exactly on the 61st street bridge do you fish for piggy perch prior to a trip? I'm tired of watching everyone else catch grouper, so decided I need to learn to gather some live bait prior to a trip. Also I noticed there is a bait shop there on 61st street - do you ever just buy bait if its slow pickings on fishing for piggy pearch? Also do you use a cast nest vs shabki rig? Finally, what is the protocal for using the live bait well once on the new bucanneer? Is it just the honor system? (ex: you add a dozen to the well, then you only take out a dozen during the trip). Or do folks keep their live bait in their own buckets? thanks!

I usually caught mine under the lights at Jamil park, but other people recommended trying by the boat ramp. I think my hooks were too big last time…

piggy’s are grouper candy vs most other bait. If I could find them I would buy them.

I have never been there in day time. I tried a cast net and there are rocks which is why I use sabiki rigs.

Some of our party boats had bait wells built in on both sides and would charge for use per trip.
Where are you fishing from? I fished Hubbards Marina in Florida and they had those and sold piggy perch for the livewells! That was convenient…
