Anyone ever used any rods made by bar bar custom rods?

Have two. One conventional jigger and one for 50 trolling.

As with any custom or spec build, you should know what components are being used. Evaluate guides, blanks, reel seats, etc.

Even a good build with poor components can leave you wanting.

I haven't fished with any of his rods but the ones I have seen appeared to be built very well with a high attention to detail.

  8. Are you looking at the 80# Planer Rod on EBay he is selling?

No, I purchased a 6 foot 40 to 80 lb. jigging rod made from one of the newer rainshadow blanks. Also getting 7 foot calstar grafighter spinning rod, but I have to decide on size. Either a 30 to 60, or a 30 to 80, or a 40 to 100. I want to get something that I can take on the port A. trips, but also big enough to work on a long range trip. What to do, what to do, LOL

I went with the 7 foot 30 to 80 lb. calstar grafighter blank with the fuji SIC guides. Should be a very nice spinning rod. The jigging and the spinning rod will be a matching set. I am exited.
