I was watching Roland Martin bottom fishing this morning and he claimed to be fishing with an AVET reel with 35# of drag. It was a small reel about the size of a JX and two speed. There was a section to high light what gear they were using. The called the reel AVET AMX. Anyone heard of an AVET AMX?

I watched that show, too. I thought it was an LX-2, but then he said
something about 35# drag, & I was pretty sure he was full of s**t, as usual.
    a couple funny points:

1.) shifting into low gear for a 5# gag in 60' of water:D

2.) Am I the only one who would have loved to see what would have
    Happened to him w/ 100# drag, on stand-up gear, against a 300#+
    Goliath grouper?

    Good entertainment!

    It's probably a prototype.

i dont fish for goliaths but i assume if you have a rex spooled w/.... i assume 400lb mono or braid dacrone whatever and you decide you wanna put (for arguments sake) 80 pounds of drag on him... while in a flats boat w/ a camera man dancing around you and no fighting belt while gutting the butt you may find your self hanging out with your anchor pretty quick.... i highly doubt he is applying a hundred lbs of drag....but i have never fished for them maybe i am crazy......chew on that.
