Well I managed some time off over the Christmas break and did a road trip to western coast of Australia to a former American navy communication base called Exmouth in WA.
its a 3500km drive from my home town so yes the destination is well worth it.
throughout the year I collected an arsenal of gear, mainly lures as some of you would know
but the weather was against me for the GT fishing,
So the main option was to chase the Marlin within sight of the shore line, the charter of my choice is an outfit called Peak Sportsfishing that runs a 25 foot Contender with 400 horses on the back.....
for a landlubber like me this rig makes me feel very safe .

3500 km drive? My bet is that you spent more than three times as much on lures as you did on gas traveling.

Excellent Marlin bite just south of Sydney ( Wollongong-Nowra) has been on since the end of Jan & still going.
there was a black chasing bait 50 yds off Wollongong lighthouse today with about 20 other large pelagics for an hour or so.
