Thats a nice aj. I like the handle on that reel, and if i might say The back of that boat sure looks nice. Dont you have a 31 bertram? What year? it sure is in great shape.

Thanks, the boat is a 1973 31 Bertram that we completly refit in 2005 and I built in a live bait system last winter on the transom.

Well you all did some great work and have the best hull ever built. Damn nice boat what is the range if you dont mind me asking?

That first picture really cracks me up, I'll bet that was a workout!! Tell us more about what jig and how much that donkey weighed.

Well you all did some great work and have the best hull ever built. Damn nice boat what is the range if you dont mind me asking?
That is truly a fishing boat. If you look at the back it has so much room.
I added 2 50 gallon tanks downstairs to give us a 320 gallon fuel capacity and with the 315 hp Yanmar engines we have alot of range. I have not figured out the exact range with all the added weight from the overhaul but we run from Port A to Hoover (135 NM) fish for 2 days and run all the way back on the fuel that we hold. I always take an extra drum on the back deck just to be safe.
I also added 2 in deck fish boxes this past winter that are large enough for me (6'2") to lay down in and close the lid. They hold 12 20lb bags of ice each. It really is nice having a large clear deck to fish from..
The AJ weighed 68 lbs on my Shimano hand scale and was caught on a Braid jig about 250 feet down and he did not want to come up at all. I had to go full drag (30 +lbs) just to keep him out of the structure and he didn't stop fighting until he was in the boat.
We also went 1 for 4 on Swords the night before and had everyones limit of AJ's the next day. Here are some more pics.
