based on the previous postings the older model Stella FA 20K fits on the Stella FA 10K. If you are interested in an extra spool, I may have one to offer.
Yes, will fit either FA reel or spool but not on the new SW. Billiam: do you offered your 20K spool on here: http://www.360tuna.com/forum/f37/wtb-stella-fa-8k-20k-spools-6259/
I know nada about spinners, how old are we talking here It seems like the FA is what I should look for or Are the SW worth the diff?
Here's the list you can swapped the spool to get more line capacity for popping: 4000FA w/ 5000FA spool 6000FA w/ 8000FA spool 10000FA w/ 20000FA spool 4000SW w/ 5000SW spool 8000SW w/ 10000SW spool (just get 10000SW reel for popping and you're done, unless you want 8000SW for jigging with more line capacity) 18000SW w/ 20000SW spool As for jigging get lower gear ratio reel.
Get it, if you can find FA for under $500 in good condition. FA is proven reel and SW is nice reel if you can afford it.
I see the 10K with a 5:8 ratio, is it available in a 4:9 ? Or is that where you have to get the 8K w/10K spool to have capacity and some grunt? Ahh, they catch you comin' both ways...
The 10k FA is a great reel and the fastest retrieve for popping, especially with a 20k FA spool for capacity. It's got a 6:1 ratio (okay so it's just a little faster that 18k SW). The new reels are an improvement but nobody ever had anything bad to say about the FA's. Fred

How long ago were they made? Are the SW's new this year? The SW's are the newest reel and have been out about a year. The 10k SW is the same size (a little lighter actually) than the old 8k FA and has about 20-25% better line capacity. JMO, it is the star of the SW line. The FA's are still around and working hard. Some can be found new. You wouldn't go wrong with either Stella. Fred
