I couldn't ever find assist hooks with the right cord length so I attempted to make my own. It was easier than I thought. This consist of 9/0 Gamakatsu 4X strong hooks, Dyneema 270lb. assist cord, super glue and heat shrink.

    Good looking assist hooks.

I would have them double wrapped around my leader if I tried to use them for jigging. The barb would be chaffing my leader...

That thought makes me interested in how are you planning to use them?

I've never had that problem with the OTI assist hooks. I guess I'll find out in November. Trial and Error.
