I use 3-4ft fluorocarbon leader if the sea is calm and water is real clear but I straight tie to circle hook most of the time.

I think alots of these so call Polybalsa, Techwood and so on are not a suitable material for big fish, JMO

I think they are the same manufacture I said that because my tuna hunter also has TECHNIC printed on top of the popper.

Semipro , if it's possible try not to tie directly with braided lines, instead tie short piece of mono leader to your braided line then tie to your hook or lure.
