12 and 36 hour trips

The Double eagle is running many 36 hour trips and 12 hour nite trips and 12 hour day trips from now thru the summer. Boat is a 83ft Cat out of Clearwater FL. They get more fish than any other boat in the area. You can look them up on face book and their webpage for booking and rates.

Clearwater is doable so I’ll look them up.
Thanks!

Benny
Extended trips are not up on their site yet. I’ll give it some time and check back. I’m not ready to commit right now anyway.

I've never heard of them or fished with them. Pretty far from me.

I worked on the boat back in 1983 when they ran 11 hour offshore trips to 60 to 100 miles offshore and still work on the boat from time to time. They have been killing the mangrove snapper on the 12 hour nite trips. Most of the 36 hour trips are private charters but there is some room for a few spots. They only take around 30 peeps and include meals and jackpots on most of the 36 hour trips. Here is a pic of the boat from last May on a 8 day trip to keywest. Anyone can PM me for more info and for Chad's number that is the main Capt and owners son.

Hi Benny.
How you feeling?

I've never heard of them or fished with them. Pretty far from me.
Was going to go out on headboat today while the Mrs. Does some schoolwork for her PhD. I didn't buy my ticket in time and they sold out which is just fine as full moon + full boat = bad spj.
We're gonna do a 12 hr iron man next Saturday 😁
Looks like my JM finally hit a Usps distro this am, so hopefully receive Monday.
Yup all good thanks Mike! It may have been a blessing not getting a spot today. Great news! Your reel should be arriving real soon now.

Wow! An 8 day trip is a lot of preparation and I couldn’t carry what I think I’ll need to bring. Was expecting a different pic of an eight day trip when I scrolled down. Not sure if I was expecting a ton of fish or just a bunch of happy campers. Just not expecting the pic posted. Thanks for the heads up I’ll keep checking their site.

There is a guy named Jeff that sets up the charters. I will ask Chad if i can get his number.

That was a Family only thing. We used to do fun trips for the crew for years and stay out 3 days or more. That 8 day trip was a one time thing only. It was fun until most of us got sick near the end of the trip. I never get sick, but when i do it's bad and seems to happen every 15 years or so. It was not covid but it sure hit me. We stopped at the Fort.

Fort Jefferson is a cool place. If your into camping I suggest you spend as many nights ad you can there. There is no ambient light so you can see all sorts of stars, and the fishing off of the dock is good aswell.

Love to bring my big scopes there as you see in my avatar. At 400lbs it's staying home. Fishing is unreal at the dock with a million mangrove snapper. Plenty of deck room for around 30 people on the long trips

Is that boat owned by the same people that operate the Double Agent?

No. Never heard of that. Is that a boat? This boat had 4 12V71's until they replaced them with two Cummins 6 bangers back in 2015. They don't ever run fast like you guys do. really no need to run fast on the 36 hour trips since everyone gets a limit pretty fast on red snaps. Mangrove snapper are much harder to catch.

Here is the Email for Jeff that heads up these over nite charters.

[email protected]. First trip is at the end of this month and will be fishing on the elbow for Mutton and Mangrove snapper and maybe fish the ditch for red grouper.
Still some spots open for the 28th of this month.
Better check with the boat on the weather if anyone is going. We got a few volleys of upper level energy starting tonite thru sun with heavy rain and winds could be 40 knts offshore later Sat.
Boat had a 1000lbs of fish and got many mutton snapper before it got nasty. Got up to 12ft and they came in early. Next trip is June 1st i think when Red snaps open.
They killed the snapper on the 12 hour trip last nite. 130 Mango snaps and many yellow tail and throw back gags and red snaps. Pics can be seen on their face book page.

June 9th there is still some spots open for the 36 hour trip for red snapper. Meals and live bait included. Think we will be going 110 miles northwest of Clearwater FL in 140ft like the last two years. On these places you can drop down and count 1-2-3 start to reel and Boom you are on the snaps are so thick. Avg size it 12lbs with some over 20lbs. Also be fishing for mangrove snapper on the 60ft high peaks 90 miles to the northwest. Gags are closed.
