Another exhausting weekend. Pics below. The last picture has a big white pig in it, but it's hard to see. Some faces have been removed because they don't want them on the internet. Lots of gutting this weekend.

Looks like a busy weekend!!! NIce pics..
One very interesting thing that I saw this weekend was a porcupine. I've seen them in East Texas but never in the area where I was hunting. I was hunting where the terrian turns from Hill Country Cedar into South Texas mesquite and cactus flats. This was a very large ranch I drove from sunrise to sunset. I am tired of being in a truck.

Just before dark I spotted a porcupine. The pictures below aren't great as it was getting dark and I was jogging next to the porcupine.

Those are cool picsof the porcupine. Which river is in the photo?

It's not a river. There are springs about five miles up from where I took the pic. The water is cold and crystal clear. I popped a pig in the middle of a part that was 18 inches deep. That pretty well sucked going to retrieve the pig. I only took one pair of boots.

I call it a creek but it is about 50 yards across for about 3 miles. It then tapers to 20 yards for another 5 miles before all going into a sink hole.

It's a brake killer. You cross it over and over every day. Anywhere front 5 inches to 15 inches. Brakes get wet, dry out, getwet, dry out. It's never gone dry. Here's some pics of the creek.

Are there fish in the spring?
Are there fish in the spring?

Yes, but I don't fresh water fish. Perfect place to fly fish for bass if you were into it.
Mrbill,
That was a fun hunt. Next time bring more ammo and poker cash. Check the picture below. Vacation Man send it to me this afternoon. He's been hunting for 9 straight days. No details but I assume he either popped it or knows who did. Look at those tines. This animal has Boone & Crockett written all over it.

Snagged,
First off, the guy that sent me that PIC is Mr. Vacation this time of year. He lives at two different hunting lease's for three months. His wife and kids can't even reach him because he is out of cell range. His wife bought him a Sat/Nav phone but he never turns it on. Hunting is his life.

If fact, his wife was eight months pregnant with their second child one year when hunting season began. He told her not to have the ranch foreman find him unless the labor pains were real bad. When the water broke, the foreman came to his blind mid afternoon and said it's time. He had a three hour drive to the hospital. He actually waited until dark before he hit the road.

When he arrived at the hospital, his wife was in the delivery room. The child was born and the next morning he was sitting in his blind. Strange but true. In fact, the boy's name is "Buck". I think he's a senior in high school now. The only reason he sent me the email is because he had to come to town to pay monthly bills. I sent him a reply, but I don't expect a response until Christmas.
