I know there are too many types so I figure I ask before I try to open it.
this screw, I tried with all these screwdriver but before I turn it, I can feel it's not the right one. Maybe it will open but I will mess it up for sure after couple of tries. So is there "another type" I should have?
it looks like it's Not Philip nor Flat
Hi San, that screw head is a combo head. It gives you the choice of either using a flat or Phillips head driver. Just make sure you choose the correct size driver to fit correctly.
it is a combo-head. I agree on the removal hazard.
removal is better with a flat-blade screwdriver.
In the past I have ground down an oversized flat screwdriver
for a perfect fit. just be sure to press hard into the screw while
turning, it should pop loose.
Have to go to local hardware store for help cos I know there are different Screw threats. Might run into another problem if they don't sell small quantities....but one box
I am trying to learn how to clean reels myself so would like to have all tools before I start. Philip, Flat, Torx, socket set (not sure those inside SAE or Metric)
Definitely use a flat head as the inside of that screw will easily strip and then you’ll be forced to try the flat head. So save the headache and start with the flat head
as others have said - a combo head. Use a flat head but you might need to grind narrow a screwdriver otherwise risk gouging the sides of the trim. That trim doesn't need removing for servicing. You risk damaging the screw unless you have the right tool.
Doesnt like its one of them but me and my makita love those phillips heads that accept a square bit snugly.
