We were just on the Cudaman trip on the YC, the most widely SP rod used on that trip was Jongsoo's rod, it had plenty of backbone and springy enough tip to do that.
I like the idea of a SP rod you can use to pull on a fish. I think they're HR Slow Jigging 3 rods. If I'm right then lightestst is 250g rated 10kg max drag at 90 degrees, then 350g rated 14kg and 650g rated 18kg.
I don't care who made them, I'd love to get my hands on the 250g version.
I'm guessing that shipping will make these cost prohibitive here in the states unless someone becomes a dealer and brings a mess of them over or Unless, of coarse, you're very wealthy and don't care what things cost.
I really do like the bend in the lighter model here.
Why can’t they make a slow pitch rod you can rail .. oh yea .. they did and I used it and caught about a 50lb amberjack almost as easy I would with mr shampuju but I was using chris’ Trinidad 20a with a 6.2 .. that can be fixed but that rod was really
Impressive .. the ONLY thing I would wish was that the butt was longer but I realize I’m much bigger than the theorized slow pitche guy ... either way ... I’m getting one as soon as I can find out how to contact Jongsoo

Garriga, who exactly told you you can't use the rod to pump the fish when slow-jigging ? I think you have been too impressed by the Japanese Sensei...
Here I'm fighting a mullet snapper -these things fight DIRTY- using heavy drag. IMO the Black Hole rods are among the best for "masculine slow-jigging":
My understandng and I've asked for clarification often and yet to get a straight answer is that the BH rods don't have as soft a tip as traditional SPJ rods. Why they are able to hold more drag. That's not my interpretation. That's what I've heard. Seems your rod bends closer to the tip than a moderately fast rod but could just be viewing on my phone screen.
Got tired of waiting for the holy grail that can dance a jig and hold 30 so I went traditional and ordered two SPJ style rods along with three Challenger Banks. I think I'm covered. I'll let the structure dictate which I use. In the end. It's about bouncing a jig to get bit.
Have to admit these Hearty Rise Rods show potential for my style of fishing but do they still have the tip to work a jig effortlessly. Don't know. Also don't know how much drag they are using. The Temple Reef I've purchased I'm told can hold 8 pounds.
Technically, every rod can be pumped to its max drag with little concern for failure. Just being able to pump doesn't satisfy my quest. Need to be able to move 30 plus with rod only to impress me.
what about one of our clients pumping and highsticking a Beat Propagate, one of the "purest" slow-jigging rods, very similar to the Poseidon if not a little bit more "noodle"...
How much drag used? I’m looking to move 25 pounds. That’s a lot of pounds for thin moderate fast rod. I’m told you need thin moderate fast to get proper load and resulting movement of the lure.
don't know but definitely not 25 lbs. That rod would have exploded in 12 pieces about mid-way up... I'd say he had about 12 pounds of drag (measured out of the reel).
Don't listen to the hype too much. Some SP rods have an action more suited to work the lure, some more suited to fight the fish. One advantage is always a tradeoff with the other. All rods can be used for anything you'd like as long as you are able to adapt...
That's the point I'm always making. Gear for power and you sacrifice presentation. Why I went with G2/G3 for bouncing when fatigued back tells me to stop and Challenger Bank when I'm feeling good and want best chance to move a big fish off structure.
Location most determines gear needs in my opinion. Not fishing wrecks or tall ledges with light gear and no need for BFT Tackle over barren ground. Would be excellent if the former could do both but that just doesn't seem to be available yet. Never know. Technology always moving forward. Perhaps new advancements in material produce a blank that can do both. My holy grail.
