Hello,
I am planning a tuna trip some time in the fall but I have 10 people total that want to come along. After searching online I couldn't come up with any companies, other than the Bluefin out of Freeport, that have a 10 passenger capacity. I've been fishing party boats for the past 12 years and am wanting to try something different. I am in the DFW area so the TX and Louisiana coasts are where I could depart from. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Dolphin Docks use to have a smaller boat next to the dolphin express. It’s red/white... can’t think of the name on it. I fished that boat on a state water snapper trip. It’s a great little boat.
Boat run as a 6 pack charter does not require coast guard certification.
Any vessel over 6 passengers requires this certification,
which can entail major costs with getting the boat certified.
Why they are tough to find.
Might want to consider a smaller party boat to charter
for your group.
You'll have plenty of space for fishing and socializing,
and might find it far more enjoyable then a regular party boat trip
which its regular load.
The Bluefin is great, but for something new try the Louisiana or Carribean Sea out of Fourchon, La. I have a friend that has a charter on the Louisiana in April.
I think they run 12-angler trips.
If only I had a diposable income....makes sense that a CG Cert would cost the charter company.
Lousiana seems so inticing, not nearly the travel time required to get into deeper waters.
Thanks for the reccomendations!
Capt Matt, when might Fall tuna schedule come out?
