Galveston Party Boats $250.00. It's a trip that me and a few other newbies are taking. We caught tuna last time. Just have to sleep on the benches or the deck if you get tired. 30 hour and leaves April 25th.

It's alot easier to keep a customer than to loss them and try to get them back. They might find a better deal elsewhere!

Tom, you are spot on! However, we are all hoping that the Big E can find a way to sail with lower prices than those currently listed. The problem with this hope is that the E must have set pricing to be able to stay in business and be profitable. this means many of our price points don't work in the Big E business model, lower pricing means losing money, i suppose. We will soon see what happens after the first four or five trips.

Man you guys are tough on us....... I truly feel your PAIN... Believe me when I say that WE ( thats all of us down at the docks) have fought the pricing as much as you all have... We have heard you and we forwarded the info on very strongly to the owners...

Bottom line is that even if we split the difference from where it was last year to this years prices, we would still be operating at a several hundred thousand a year loss...We can't do that and still remain in business.

Please get off of the fuel price thing............... That is only a small part of our operational cost (thought I covered that in an earlier post).

We (the crew, Josh , Mickey , Kalieb, John, And all of our temporary summer help) are definitely going to miss some of our past regular customers.......

We will agree with you that there are other boats out there running at substantiously lower prices ,,,,,, but do they compare to what the Big E provides?

Oh yea ! one last thing..... We are booking trips and have several charters already on the books..

The Big E is the best GOM charter and I've always tried to make 3 - 4 trips a year. I certainly understand the need for profit and the use of a return on investment (ROI) model to help determine pricing of one's product or service. One element of the ROI is predicting an average number of customers UE will have on each scheduled trip. If UE is using last years averages, they may be missing the mark. On most of my Big E trips, I'd say 40-50% of the fishermen were 360tuna or 2coolfishing folks - and these were most of the repeat customers. Maybe as a final effort to have UE change to a reasonable pricing stratgy, we can conduct a poll. For example:

1. I will not utilize UE in 2009 due to its new pricing strategy Y/N

2. I plan to make 2 or less UE trips in 2009 Y/N

3. I plan to make more than 2 UE trips in 2009 Y/N

I am considering one trip in 2009 and frankly, I'm having a very difficult time making the commitment due to the huge increase in price.

the big e is a gret boat, not argueing that point, who cares what it provides compared to other boats. for the price they should hand out NEW 2 speed avets to every one that gets on the LONG trips as GIFTS...lol....heck you would have already paid for them.
Offshore Big Game Fishing Charters in the Gulf of Mexico, Marlin fishing, Tuna fishing, Offshore fishing in Texas 54 hr trip 6 ppl and the total price is 4200 plus fuel wich would be 1200 to 2000 so say 6200 thats just a lil more than 1K each. and this boat is very nice. 3 state rooms, ice maker on boat so all your fish will have ice ALL THE TIME. if im going to paying to HIGH prices im gonna do it on a small boat that will CATER to what i want to do. look these guys up and call randy (owner) and talk to him.
