Underwater Expeditions is on a distinguished road
Underwater Expeditions is currently working on our 2009 schedule. Our operation is owned by Louis. He also is the owner of several dive inspection boats, crew boats as well as other offshore operations. The Big E does not have any chambers on the vessel. We do have the COI for the vessel. The changes that were made to the vessel were in mind for future long range trips. We are excited to offer a full galley, icemakers, washers and dryers to accomadate our long range fishing customers. The Big E will have a set schedule for all 12,30, 52, and 76 hour trips this year as well. Almost all 12 hour trips will be ran on the Capt. Casey. We will be closed untill Jan 4th 2009. At that time we will post our new schedule and pricing on our web page. Those customers who have requested an e-mail schedule will be sent one during this time. We look forward to seeing everyone in 2009 and our crew is ready to get back to fishing! If you have any questions or comments for the 2009 schedule I am open for suggestions!
UE wishes everyone a Great Christmas!
Thank You

With the galley added, will we be able to bring our own food and adult beverages on the boat. Not sure there would be a need for a washer and dryer for a 2 day trip. I think a nicer shower would have been more beneficial than washing clothes. Also get the Sat radio and all the tv screens working. Thanks for the update.

You will still be allowed food and drinks, but the price of the trip will include three full meals per day with a prof. chef and galley hand. We will also have tea/lemonade in refg. throughout the day. Sat. radio is working and we hve switched to dish netwk to give more tv options.

ok. i know you may not want/need any suggestions - but doing more 'bare bones' overnighters out to the rigs and back...sort of a 'run and gun' for tuna might get some interest.

i know i can spare time for an overnighter moreso than 3 whole days for a 52 hour in general.

anyway, thanks for posting the info, i am glad to see you guys are coming back.

Bret are you talking about 24 hours or less than that. As far as the differnt types of trips I am open for suggestion and seeing what fits you guys the best. As long as they are not rude or sarcastic comments I am open to any ideas!!

well, the big e is fast enough to run up to 150 miles and still have good fishing time in a 24 hour period. as far as i can see you're the only texas party boat who can accomplish this . i believe you guys do about 22-24 knots cruising? if so youre right around 25-27 mph. boomvang is 116nm from freeport. So, you're looking at around a 5 hour run to boomvang/nancen.

if the boat left at around 1 or 2PM you're going to get there around 6/7 PM....can fish all night until 6/7AM then gun straight home and get back to the dock around noon. you could probably then turn right around and head back out for a second night, back to back.

the reason i suggest that is because the boats up north do it for canyon trips with a lot of success. the distance is not really an issue as i've been on trips that went 150 miles and we still had a lot of fishing time that night. realistically i think most people come on these trips for tuna. amberjack/grouper are kind of a 'bonus'

on these trips, you could also eliminate any "frills" that might normally raise some prices (i.e. no need to provide meals - just regular galley with concessions), plus you wouldn't need to run and keep baits for bottom fishing. It's great on a 2+ day trip to have meals, showers, etc.....but on an overnighter its not as big of a deal. i'll sleep on the deck if need be
