Are they going to charge around the same amount that yall do from your site? The reason I ask is FTU is notorious for being quite a bit higher on alot of stuff (no I'm talking bad about them they get a ton of my money anyway just out of convience) nad I was curious if OTI was going to have them at set pricing so they wouldn't be "gouging" the prices badly? I'm literally 20 minutes from there so that would be very convient is their pricing was in the same ballpark as buying direct.

Hey Mitch!

Mfrs can suggest a retail price (MSRP Mfrs Suggested Retail Price), but cannot -at the current time- dictate at what price their products must be sold by retailers.

Even though some mfrs try to skirt this issue, we won't take this risk (all of this is based on personal experience from a different industry).

Made it by FTU yesterday due to a rainy weekend. And checked out the OTI gear. It was located were I expected it to be under the Big Yellow Fin Tunas.
: )

The assist hooks were located with the other assist hooks and displayed well.
The poppers were down the isle and showed to be larger, and with better hardware as expected. The popper rods were racked a few feet away closer to the high end reels and fly fishing equipment. It was my first time to handle the rods, I am impressed!. Inovative, well built, light and strong.
Made my positive comments to the floor sales staff and to a few customers that were looking at the assist hooks.

As to FTU pricing it depends on what your in the market for.

Yes I can get foam popping corks a few cents cheaper at Walmart or Academy. And pay way more for the same cork at a bait camp.

For me FTU is fair priced for the quality and quanity of selection.

For bargines on mid range tackle check the reel bin behind the sales counter it's always changing. Yesterday I saw several Shamino reels (Stella, Trinadad ect..) that were discounted up to 25%.

They also keep a rod bin in the reel repair area with discounted heavy rods.
Yesterday the selection was not much. But in the past I've found Penn tuna sticks for like 17 cents on the dollar.

Their regular price on an Avet sx is $175 compared to 175.95 to 179.00 from the mail order locations I've checked.

Anyway not trying to be a soap box guy.
But deer corn, Gas, and cold beer prices vary widely from location to location and from brand to brand.
But if time and selection are your target neither a feed store or a Liquir store
have it all at the lowest price.
IMHO FTU has done a good job for decades.

Still think they could do better on their web page though.

Kev.
