OTI at Fishing Tackle Unlimited

TJ and I did a sales road trip last Thursday and Friday!

We headed down to FTU and met with Joe and Steve (the owner and store manager).

They loved our rods, poppers, and jigs and placed a fantastic opening order!

You should see our products on their shelves this week sometime!

We also completely outfitted our first sportfisher, top to bottom!

We drove over to Mandeville, La. to meet up with the broker and his customer to deliver a full load for the client's new 48' Viking!

They were leaving last Friday to fish the weekend, and end up in Port Aransas today where the boat will stay.

It's amazing how in business you need to be flexible and look for ALL opportunities that come your way!

We also opened a new account in Baton Rouge, Superior Tackle on Siegen Road!

I try to stop by FTU on 45 south, about every other week when I'm up in the Houston area. When I do see your products on their shelfs I'll make a point to comment (positive of course) to the store staff.
I don't get to their I-10 west store much, maybe some one else could do the same there.

On another note I stopped by the Bass Pro shop in Mertle Beach SC. mid March. Man they sure could use some increase in selection of SW tackle. This store is just a few miles from the beach and had about the same or less selection than their Springfield MO. store.

On another, another note
I have a fair acuaintance with Bob Norton of Norton Lures (friend of a friend thing) and long time good acuaintance with Bob Fuston , Mansfield Mauler, and have disscussed with them their experiences about landing new accounts that vary from dealing with non savy saltwater purchasing agents via email and fax to
bumping into a paticulair CEO while cleaning a mess of fish at a cleaning table.

anyway glad to here the news and coninued good luck.
Kevin

Thanks all!

Kevin- nothing substitutes meeting with someone face to face, regardless of where the place is!

Steve -the store manager- also helped us pull off the impossible in outfitting that 48' Viking with only about 4 days notice!

I know Bob Norton and Fuston too. Fuston has moved to this area now. The coast has just plain wore him out. I also know the guys at Texas Tackle Factory. They are in a whole different market than OTI, but they may be able to help. It does seem that you guys are gaining momentum. I plug you guys at every opportunity.

Bob Fuston and Wife are good people. In Grape Vine (or Glenn Rose) sp?
I don't TX north of I 10 much

Last we met was @ the JP Griffon turny in PT. Mansfield year before last.

Bob was an electrical superintendent [sp] by trade and we met on a project
in Guatamala around 1994 or 95. I hung with Tim Choate's group that year I spent there. While putting in a 100mw Elect plant,
Bob got his 1 first pacific sail with us, we popped about 6 to 8
that day. As I was in the Port of San Jose for almost a year, I met and drank
many times with Bud Grammer the Classic, Ron Hamlin the
Gyspy at that time and Flash on the Itensity, all good men. They allowed me through the Bait and switch tech to see some 120 sails caught and released
along with my 50 sails on 20 conv tackle, 3 on 16lb spin and 1 on 20lb fly. I know Tim's lodge is sold ect.. But I would like to know if\where Bud Grammer is fishing. With the Ziegen Bock talking tonight this reply is sounding more like a Blog,

Oh well, OTI poopers on bait and switch schooled Pac Sails...
just a good dream.

Kev
