John, in my opinion, the rebouncing power of stiffer Wei rod fight for you.
4'8" Wei rod is stiffer than 400 g GM around tip section.

ksong ,
Are you considering cutting from the tip as well,If not why? Ref to the 600gm OTI 5'6""
Blank is very nice but to me the tip is a little soft.I was considering 2" or more off the tip and 6"+/- on the butt
Very interested in how this turn out for you,Thanks

Its about enjoying, i never enjoyed a rod more than the Wei World the
flexibility and strenth and lightness is what makes this rod special.
In my opinion a stiffer and stronger rod with no flex, will tire you out
faster, that will negate the whole purpos of Japanese style of jigging.
I have jigged 8,10hrs straight and landed big fish without much effert or got tired.

Lots of people talk about the price, but the fun and enjoyment that i have received from this
jigging rod is priceless.
John, do you think the JM 300 would be more comparable to the Wei world in terms of backbone?

what are you comparing the "soft" tip on the 600 to?
how much have you pulled on that to get the rod to bend?

I am not comparing it to any other rods as all of my rods similarly rated all have different feel and actions the soft tip is my observation only and for what syle of action and use I'm looking for.
I think we are all very interested in how this rod turns out, a friend is building on the same blank a similar set up.

i am doing all the full size so far, i havent built one cut..YET .
when guys stop here, they get to pull on ALOT of different blanks and choose the right one
i am always looking to see what guys compare to..especially if i do not stock or have the blank/ rod to feel.

i saw johns pic of the Wei world..i was just curious
What amount of drag would you guys think it would take to bend the 600 like that? or if we even can
i have bent the 600 but after breaking 6-8 other blanks recently i am a little gun shy
and my hand still hurts

I will tell you that I would agree with John I have never had a rod that is as light, powerful and as easy to use as my Wei Worlds. They dont even feel like they weigh anything. I actually just got the 5'2 as well as the 4'8.
