get strapped and OTI
so i put a torsa 20 on my new OTI jigging rod. the studs are too long, has anyone had a similar problem.
i assume i should just nick off 1/4 to 1/2 inch and make sure it is still threaded properly. it worked fine on a dragonfly jigging rod, are they bigger in diameter where the reel seat attaches? thanks |

the studs aren't too long so much as these new jig rods are smaller
diameter in the seat area little trick- figure how much has to come off, then run a nut up the stud past the cut-line. when you're done, back the nut off & threads are fixed. just file the little burr off the end. I had kinda the same problem putting an LX on my jig rod(400g SeaMajic) w/ a GS bracket. Tightened down fine, but too much space in between to clamp the GS bracket. Went to Lowe's & got some 3/16" I.D. STAINLESS bushings & cut to correct length to take up the gap. works excellent. hope this helps. tight lines -Brian |
