    What would YOU do !!!

So me and my dad grandma and sister
Made. A 1000 mile round trip to cape hatteras to go for bluefin . We get there the weather was iffy but not dangerous. Yesterday morning was a small craft advisory and the boat we were going to be on was 46 foot. The captain called off the trip knowing the long distance trip we made because of 8 foot swells 10 seconds apart. I saw other boats come back and brought in some fish. I saw some pics on the reports so if anyone one was in hatteras fishing on Tuesday please let me kno what the conditions were like thanks. Very upset with one of the boats at hatteras harbor marina...

The captain is probably looking out for your safety. I wouldn't be too mad because of other boats went out and caught some fish. And it all comes down to the captain wether to go out or stay. I am not saying something could have wrong but its whatever he is comfortable with. Sorry that you had to drive that far. I am sure I will be fuming too.

I would have planned more than one day for your trip on the strong possibility weather affected your preferred date.

I would research the vessels and not call it a boat out of hatteras harbor, that boat isn't part of the hatteras charter boat association, the charter boats in HHM, work hard and fish alot of foul weather so maybe try booking a boat thru the marina, ie Tuna Duck, Bite me, Godspeed, Sea Creature, low profile, boats that are fishing this time of year, and yes definitely allow several days of fishing due to weather

Same thing happened to me and a few friends back in December, but the seas were predicted at 7ft. They never got to 7 ft, but the trip was cancelled. We drove 700 miles round trip for nothing and I burned a day of vacation for it.

I would have tried to get on a different boat the next day.
