    Stella Fa's, Sw's, PG's, JDM's, '08's etc.

It would be a great service to many of us who are thinking of up grading reels for someone to take the time to list the different Stella models and maybe a chart of the interchangeable spools for each model. Also some comment on service support of each model. I have done much reading and am more confused than ever. Can JDM models be serviced in the USA? What is the difference between '08's, SW's ? How can one thinking of buying a used Stella know the difference between a JDM or a US model?
Don't want to get a "good deal" on a reel that is not able to be serviced, or buying a reel with the intention of upgrading spool only to find out it can't be done.
With all the current posts on this subject there is a great need for this.
My hat's off to who ever puts this info into a form that is easily viewed and different models can be quickly compared. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!!

I just had a JDM Stella 10K serviced in the U.S. (replaced body due to snapped frame). The warranty didn't apply though so I had to pay for the body.

If you had sent it to Japan would they have waranteed it? Isn't Japan closer to you than the U.S.? Do the JDM reels have anything like Platinum service available to them?

I guess I could do it. First of all, the way to tell them apart between JDM and USDM is this, JDM will always have the SW in from of the number model. As you can see USDM will say ******SW and JDM will say SW*****. Also, JDM will have the "gear" PG, HG, XG on the back of the number SW*****PG (HG or XG).

Stella 8000FA Spool interchangeable with 6000FA.

Stella 10000FA Spool interchangeable with 16000SW or 20000FA. (16000SW is JDM upgrade spool.

Japan is Closer, but all his Mail still goes thru the Hub in NY. Most guys outside of the USA complain about Shimano's service and prefer Daiwa's to it. Were all lucky that Shimano US takes good care of us.

If it doesnt, you will be able to find it easier since you have posted in it. Just search for your user ID.
