Hi Tom,

Thanks for the welcome.

I just spent the afternoon reading through some really informative posts here. After I saw the photos of that damaged OF95, I seriously doubt I'll be buying the new OFC. The thing is, there's no Fin Nor dealer in my part of the planet so its going to be a real pain to get parts.

just bought a 5000p ocea jigger to match with my 600 gm jigger rod. I love that set up already and haven't gotten it wet yet. That will change the 18th. I'll let everyone know how it performed

Can't go wrong with the Jigger Tass. I'm currently rebuilding a Trinidad 40 internally with parts from the JDM Jigger for a trip in December. I'm calling it the Ocea Trini StickBom! Special

Longer handle on the OJ?

I, like Tass, just ordered a 5000P ocea jigger. Plan to jig like a wild man on the Big E, Sept 1-3. I know, the big ones are caught chunking, but I'm gonna try and stick with my plan. Ksong, do my eyes deceive me or is the handle on the OJ longer than the handles on the other two reels. It looks a lot longer than the handle on my 50 Trini. That, and its gear ratio would account for its reputed cranking power.
How many jigs might a guy loose on a 52 hour trip?

Fred if your Trini 50 handle is the same length as the ones on Trini 40 then yes, the Jiggers have a longer handle. I know my Trini 40 handle is definitely shorter than the ones found on Jiggers. However, the Trinis have slightly larger drag surface when compared to Jiggers.

Well, McGolfer takes a one or two 150 quart coolers -just for jigs!- when he does that trip!

Jig suggestions for Big -E trip.

2 of each kind, 4 of each color, plus spares......

Really, 8 to 10 ought to get things started.

I like some that can glow in the batch for sure.

See Minnows recommended tackle list for starters.

Attached photo could represent a basic kit minus your deep drop rigs.
