Rod/Reel clamp for jigging

Does anyone jig without a clamp on their rig? The clamp on my JX2/seamagic setup seems uncomfortable for me.

For jigging, the clamp on my JX 2speed was very uncomfortable. To make it more tolerable I ground a deep beveled surface on the edges with a bench grinder.

I saw a clamp I liked on an Ocea Jigger, I think, it was a lightweight stainless steel stamped piece, that used small round bolts to bolt to the reel base. Very small and out of the way. Comfortable too.
