Opinions on Ocea Jigger NR 2000 P

    Hi,

I know everyone is caught up in the bling on the JM reels at present, but any opinions on these? I need a reel that will take 300yds of PE4 and they look like they will fit the bill.

Is the spool width 21mm on the 2000P as well? Whats the difference between the NR2000P and the regular 2000P?

The drag may need a little work, I see some comments about fitting cal's drag plate and perhaps aftermarket washers as well, but even on PE4?

I have the NR2000P great friggen reel much smoother and casts better than any of my Saltiga's. I have 333yds of 40lb suffix with alot of backing. Very sweet reel IMO

    Hey Till,

ANother big thumbs up for the Ocea Jiggers... I've got 2 x 4000P which are snazzed up like Brets with a JM T-Bar, Cals plate and Carbontex, and a 2000P NR which is likewise tweaked and pimped...

Awesome little reels, I would defintely go with the NR version of the 2000P.... they come with stock standard drag of about 7 kilos or so, but with the Cal's and Carbontex upgrade, you are looking at closer to 10 kilos or more with some fine tuning.... Do you need 10 kilos of drag on PE 4?? Probably not, but its fun as hell to have if you do!

Awesome reel, you won't regret it!

The 2000p is the power gear version of the 2000. If you want a narrower spool look at the 1500. While the drag plate isn't necessary, it with carbontex drags will net you 15+Kg of drag; basically doubling the factory specs of 7 Kg. The factory drags are smooth, but there not greased carbon fibre. After the dartanium drag washers wear replace them with greased carbon fibre. The greased carbontex washers will add @ 2kg of increased drag

They do make a 1000 the normal version is gold and the p is gunsmoke like all the others. PLAT/Fishing Tackle Store-Fishing Equipment/Catalog-SaltWater Fishing(Big)-Reel-SHIMANO Baitcast Reels-OCEA JIGGER-en

Looks like a good subistute to my accurate 197, since I'm not a fan of lever drags for fish under 150lbs.

Hmm thanks for all the feedback guys, but I didn't really see one point covered? I'm sure someone knows =)

Whats the difference between the Ocea Jigger 2000P and the Ocea Jigger NR 2000P?

On the otherwise great studio ocean marks, the L120's spool is offset from the rod, that doesn't happen on these? Promise?

What size drag plates for the NR200P size?
