Minnow,

we arrived Dar es salam with no rod tubes! Fortunatly they cam next day from Dubai. Mady and Jason "Latham Deep sea fishing in Tanzania" <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <meta name="author" content="Maddalena Martinengo"> <meta name="copyright" content=""> <meta name="description" content="Fishing in Tanzani (our guides) where flexible and accomidated change in schedule. You will not find guides with more local knowledge. Both have igfa line records for gt and dogtooth tuna!
Jason also holds grouper record and is accomplished marlin and swordfisherman. Their new catamaran is almost finished and will be awesome for multiday explorations. Leaving at dark We slow trolled sword baits (softheads with squids and mini light sticks) all night to Latham. With no hits we began predawn jigging. It is awesome to pull up a different fish you have never seen on almost every drop! The approach to Latham is spectacular! 1,000s of sea birds swirling with aquamarine waves crashing the small cliffs and coral heads. I was lucky fishing inside reef (you literaly throw popper at waters edge) that my first gt was small on homade stickbait. You must horse
fish immediatly to keep out of coral heads.
We soon discovered larger fish were outside in deep water. Although the large fish where not plentiful we soon had triple explosion with instant cut off of two. one large popper flew 40' and landed perfectly on my shirt pocket scaring the hell out of me! The fish landed was 40kg. gt on Hammerhead popper (sammi was estatic!) Rob (redfisha) soon followed with 34kg. gt on new ocean revolution stickbait. My gt came that night on O.T.I. green jager and it had to be on bottom in 100meter! There are many more pics as I have only posted pics from my cam. whoever was not hooked up took pics or others.
You will be amazed by the variety 28 species. And I forgot to mention the large schools of rainbow runners 3' to 4'!!!! I will look at notes from kilwa and post more later....

Yes we will be on the july 4th trip, how can i miss it. All the jigging masters will be there too. Dan is doing arm workouts so he can do three nights of jigging like a semi pro. We are doing a TOO sept 5-7 trip and might want to do 30hr in june.
