jigs for Yellowtail ( Kingfish )

Looks like I`m going to be in Loreto, Baja Sur, Mx. in March for some Yellowtail fishing. In the past I`ve allways used live bait but now that the jigging bug has bitten there will be no more buying mackeral at $ 2.00 a shot.

I would like some help as to what size, shape, and color jigs will work best.

    Thanks, Rick

I have caught yellowtail on a number of jigs off the east coast of Australia. Shimano flat-sided butterfly jigs in the 300g range had worked, although when the fish were thick it didn't seem to matter what brand/color we used as long as the jig was heavy enough to make it to the bottom. Not sure what depths you will be fishing, but we were fishing about 180-400 feet.
