An X-rap should work great if you can keep it from falling apart or from fighting the fish for a couple hours on light drag as the boat drifts. It would be great if someone can invent a way to rig such a bait like a butterfly jig. I may try a split ring with assist hook on a long cord. Rubberband the cord to the lure, one wrap of copper wire around the hook eye and the tail ring. I bet it would work and I may need to give it a try.

d-a, that is exactly what I was thinking. The rigging in the link is a little more elaborate than my thinking, but the concept is dead on. Thanks for the link. I saved it.

honestly, i had a single hook on the back of my tailwalk at first. i changed it to a treble. i noticed the trebles worked better. perhaps it was luck, and i will try it again, but if you have good treble hooks on your lure it will work just fine.

I got it but it seems very elaborate. The x raps look pretty durable for their price so I bought a couple. Don't know if I'll even fish them but I think that I'll avoid the fancy rigging though I really like how it looks and I know it would save a good fish from being lost.

I did go out and buy a shibuki, and a couple other stickbaits. I can't get over the price of them though. I can always fish them for other species or from the beach though so that's the good thing. I may just have to take Kil up on the BFT in MASS though.
