Kilsong, you take good notes on fishing trips. The sub-surface lures rock on some trips. Folks have to be prepared and watch what is working best. If nothing is working... try something that no one else has tried...

I listen to the voices inside my tackle box and fish what they tell me to...

Dare to be different when in a pick bite.

I'm wondering how these Shibuki lures compare, in actual practice, to an X-Rap 14, which for all intents and purposes looks very similar, minus the spine.

Many people were using those lures on the trip and they held up fine against blackfin. I was told that the lures are good if the split rings and hooks are changed. They might only last 3 fish and explode but the internal spine will hold.

I had a tuna on Shibuki on the Big E even when I didn't work the lure as my line was tangled with other line. I found the reason today. The lure actually sinks slowly like injured baitfish.

I saw those rapala x-rap and they look really nice. I don't know how long they'll last but I really think they will work well as I brought a couple to try out. I changed out the hooks and looks well. We'll see..
