Another nice grouper jigging out of NC yesterday.

This red grouper doesn't look big, but it weighs 29 lbs 4 oz.
I got it on the tail on a diamond jig.

another nice 20+ lbs red grouper on a jig

I drove down to NC again to fish grouper yesterday.
This is my 8th trip to NC this year. When we left the inlet, I knew we were going to have a good day as water was so clear and there was no swell.
Groupers were in biting mood and I could catch 9 nice groupers in 10 - 22 lbs range on jigs. The more I fish in NC, the more I appreciate how good the NC fishery is. I caught a cobia on a jig again.

Nice red grouper on a hammered diamond jig.

These fishes were caught while jigging for grouper.

The sizes of red groupers we caught were quite impressive.

Kil, do you only have that kind of result using hammered jigs? What method do you use with them? Nice trip and pictures.

I mainly use 8 oz hammered diamond jigs simply because it works better than any other jigs for me and they are cheap. I bounce the bottom. While most grouper were caught under the boat, I had a couple by casting far and working bottom.

You need to find one good spot to cach like this. I had three on jigs on this particular spot.
