I drove down to NC again to fish grouper yesterday.
This is my 8th trip to NC this year. When we left the inlet, I knew we were going to have a good day as water was so clear and there was no swell. Groupers were in biting mood and I could catch 9 nice groupers in 10 - 22 lbs range on jigs. The more I fish in NC, the more I appreciate how good the NC fishery is. I caught a cobia on a jig again. Nice red grouper on a hammered diamond jig. ![]() These fishes were caught while jigging for grouper. ![]() The sizes of red groupers we caught were quite impressive. ![]() |
