TJ, I can't wait until you get this rod in production.I hope you'll also offer a two piece casting rod.The travel restrictions are making it more & more difficult to fly with long rod tubes.Keep up the good work.

Scott: What I have wished for would be a THREE piece travel rod about 7-feet long, about the right size for a 20,000 size reel and maybe 50 or 60 pound line. I would not mind it's being pretty heavy as hell, as I think that would be a necessity for a rod like that to handle line of that size, and I would doubt that even if that were possible, you could never get one that would handle 80 pound line.

Welcome aboard Jeremy.
This is just a prototype rod blank, no retail price has been set for this rod. It will be around end of September or early October, this rod will handle 30lb of drag all day long. Lite linner, Yes we tested the blank with the butt section attached. Quote:

Welcome Jeremy! That's sort of the idea! This rod is very strong and light, but has a great tip (for casting lures a mile), but just the right parabolic action so that when you're fighting a hard-pulling fishy, the 7'6" length won't put you at a leverage disadvantage, relatively! The prototype looks great at this point, so if we do it, we feel the final production rod is going to be one of the best rods anywhere! The 2-piece is a GREAT convenience and is slowly, but surely, working its way to the States from Asia (vs. a one piece). I have many 2 and 3 piece travel rods and in my experience have seen as good or better performance and durability compared to my single piece sticks. If we decide to bring this to market, our limited-lifetime warranty should ease any customers' concerns regarding the rod's performance or durability. What do you think guys? |

Hi Chaps
I second all of that and can't wait to get my sweaty mitts on one. I've only two questions :- Why do you have gimble on the spinning models - seems a little redundent to me? Do you plan do any 'acid' wrapped versions of any of your rods? regards Jeremy |

Jeremy We strongly believe 50lb class and up spinning rods will require gimbals. Currently we don't have plan to make spiral/acid wrap rods. In the future we might make a limited run acid wrap rods. |
