Notice how that guy has his legs wrapped around that tuna. I just wonder if he's aroused!!! I bet that tuna is embarrassed. Kinda surprised the stella isn't anodized pink.

Fishermen are famous stretching a story. I'd be in shock if that tuna was over 180 pounds. Don't ever believe the weight of a fish unless it was weighed on a scale.

Its a shame ...if it would have positioned as great tuna on spinning gear we would all tell him great job. There is no way that fish is even pushing 200 nevermind 300 lbs. No need to stretch on a fish of that size becuase its an accomplishment to catch a tuna of that size on spinning gear period

I think they honestly believed it was 300 lbs. It is common guys who don't have many opportunities to see big tuna overestimate the size and weight.

Jon, nice cow ! The cow run in lower Baja this year doesn't look as good as in 2005 quantity wise, but it is unbelievable so many cow over or close to 300 lbs have been caught. It kindles my desire to go cow fishing one more time next year. I am planning to go to New Zealand next summer in quest of landing a 400 - 500 lbs giant bluefin on jigs. I talked with Dennis Braid this afternoon and he encouraged me to do it. Once I catch one with heavy conventional setup, I might consider to use Stella 20000 for them.

Hi Kil ,

Another photo and not sure if it's the same fish which was caught on Dec. 8 but listed on Dec. 14 , but check this link : American Angler Fishing Reports
