Very nice! I like the idea of finding treasure like that!

Did you repaint old blank or just strip to bare? (Going to build a couple of pier rods, but have read too many differing views on what can and can't be done...)

I stripped the customers rod and sanded it down with 400grain wet/dry sand paper. Repainted it and recoated it.
