Its still a very large rattler.. I saw one in Mcmullen county when I was a kid that was at least as fat as that one.. not sure how long..
So all you guys going turkey hunting this weekend be on the lookout for snakes.... they are out and hungry. |

for someone who was bored.... you could guesstimate the aparatus holding the snake is 1" between the silver tongs on the ends....

(OK- so I am bored...)snake's only barely pushing 6'.... bout as big as the largest ones I have even seen. I aint no snake weigher.. but I would agree with Pope on 10-15#

Many years ago a magazine (Outdoor life?) published a picture of a diamond back that was killed in Florida in the 30's. If my memory is correct there were 12 men standing side by side holding that monster.
BTW: That was pre Photoshop...Hell, it was almost pree computer period.
