When to Acid/Spiral Wrap

Submited By HUNTER II HUNTER II is offline
I am getting very curious about this acid wrapping technique that I have been reading about - are there any rules of thumb as to which applications it's best suited for? - what are the upsides of using this technique - what are the downsides? -I have two Calstar Blanks on order (a 660xh & 660xxh), both of which I intend to use for trolling rods - what do you think, should I put them on acid?

I have been using the FUGI USG guides for years - yes they are not cheap, but they are bullet proof, both in the frame and the ring - try them you'll like them!

i am not trying to be smart
but that is something the rodbuilder should know

i dont do the revolver wrap
i rarely do the simple spirial

almost any guides will "work"
i try not to use high frame guides

MNSG
HNSG
BHNNG
BHNLG
most will be ok for you

I don't like the stiffness of the U-frame and prefer to use the LRs or HBs.
