SeaMagic 400gram Jiggin rod |
|
|
|
***PLEASE understand I am distributing the wieght load THROUGHOUT the whole rod..... IF YOU HI-STICK this rod, it WILL break, as ANY ROD WILL *******
No sense in making Islanders pay for rods that are being broken due to hi-sticking them. Here is the SeaMagic 400 gram jiggin rod with a 20# scale weight. The line does not come close to touching the rod blank at any location. The rod tries to twist a little towards the end if its not square to the weight. I would say this would be the max it would fish. ![]() ![]() Last edited by SkeeterRonnie : 06-22-2007 at 09:36 AM. |

Thanks
Thanks for posting this. I almost drove all the way to Galveston from Ingleside to check out this rod before I puchased it but now I dont have to.
It looks like it has alot more backbone than my Trevala XXH, is it to heavy for all day jigging, and are you happy with the quality? |

the OTI rods will be his major competition. I have seen the blanks and felt them... I will be keeping this as a backup and using the OTI rods as primary as soon as they are available.

I just purchased the 400 rod rated 80-200 and was happy with the action when I did the same weight test other than minor twisting. I paired it with my new accurate 665 2 speed which should arrive next thursday.
When are the OTI rods available |

Hey gman!
Do you have a trip coming up soon? If so, let us know as we're putting many of our products are a lot of the 30 hour to 80 hour trips that you read about on many of the fishing boards. We'll try to get one where you'll be so you can test it! Last edited by Ragman : 03-31-2007 at 04:45 AM. |

Thats a good question
I have many trips scheduled both in the northeast and the gulf. I do alot of offshore tuna fishing in the northeast and I am trying to get a group of my customers on the BIG E so I am the market for a popping set up. I caught a yellowfin on a popper while in Venice and I am hooked (pun intended). i fish out of POC alot as well
I saw a post MR Bill did with a set up that looked sweet on our site Noreast. Stella spinning reel with super seeker or tuna max rod. Im looking for a popping rod soon |

they will have finished rods... SWEEEEEEEEEEET!! A lot of local, experienced fishermen have designed these for what they need.... not somebody in southern Zimbabwe hoping for the right combination to fish on the other side of the world... these OTI rods ARE the real deal!
