I think this would be an Ideal combo for bombs or pitching surface iron
to wahoo, tuna, etc., especially big boats w/ higher decks.
That is a good idea, especially for travellers by airplane. I hope they make conventional rods with spiral wrap.

If you search this site, I believe someone posted pics of the rod pulling 30# drag.

He actually had a prototype with him....and I believe that I will go with that rod. McGolfer may know the rod that I am talking about and might be able to elaborate a bit. I want something that will help me pull up those big AJ that are headed down for the rigs after you hook up.

Richard - our current 2-piece, butt joint blank has been a huge hit!

Accurate is sending TJ and I some of their 665 2speeds because we want to do some casting/testing on a 7 1/2 foot conventional, especially compared to the Stella/Spinner set up.

You know I love conventional and if it tests to be comparable, I'm all for it!

Kil- I just had Paul wrap my first spiral and look forward to trying it out!

I wonder though how big the market is for a 7 1/2 spiral wrapped production rod???

When Japanese guys build their short jigging rods with spiral wrap, there should be good market for them.
When they fight big fish with regular rods and acid wrapped rod side by side,
I don't think anyone wants to use regular rods.

Ksong,

Is there a spiral wrap jigging rod that you would recommend for an Accurate 665 NN? I like the idea!

Tom,

I got the reels from Accurate, one 665W-2 speed and two 665N-2speed. I will spool mine with 80lb OTI Depthfinder line.

the OTI are nice blanks for a shorter rod. for a longer jigging rod i have worked with GUSA and designed a 7 foot WAHOO JR ..It has been a BIG hit in the 7' range..these are Graphite..so they are light, but we remind people these are graphite rods..no high sticking...i belive kil still uses the 8'WAHOO. which is one reasoen i went ahead designing the 7' size ..they are a very nice blank

I have the same question as jiggawhat. Does the 600 gram rod come in both spinning and conventional? I ordered one in addition to the 300 gram conventional and I hope I was correct in assuming it does come in both versions.

Excellent!

Please spool my 665N-2speed with 80# DF and I'll come by today or tomorrow to pick it up and those jigs!
