jigging rod

Would it be possible to use a 600 gram rod for lighter jigs....say 250-300?
Would like to buy one rod that i could use with diffrent jigs.would that work..rookie

Yes Uncle Russ the 600g is a spin & conv production rod.

All my spiral wrapped jigging rods are from 7'6" to 8".
When I get the new OTI's 7'6" 80 lbs banks, I am thinking to make a short Japanese style jigging rod from front part of the blank.
