Drooling Over My Stick |
txseadog is about to wrap my blank from seeker and it is going to be my cow rod. Going to match it with my Avet Pro 30. I have to get it connected to one of the big YFT invading the gulf this season. You guys will be drooling over my stick. It's bigger than yours

Pope, how did you rig up your Avet 30 with line? Why'd you choose the wide vs the narrow? I am getting one for my bottom drop rig and am having a hard time deciding. I would like to run 100 mono over 130 JB hollow, so like the wide for capacity, but don't like the wobble.

130 JB and 80 copolymer topshot. I chose the wide for line capacity. I will use it for fishing big tuna from a dead boat, swords and all in between. Its not so big that you get wobble and if you are strapped in a harness and rod belt, you wouldn't get any in the first place. Get the wide.

But I am a rail fisherman on a partyboat, no harness. I may get them both, and sell the one I don't like. Or just give it to Kevin/Team Oso as a Christmas present.
Just kidding there Kevin. :-) |

Just ordered a SS blank for my 50 SDS. I'm a fan of the shorter rod and ordered the SS 55XXH with wind on Aftco guides. Actually ordered components, this'll be my first try at an offshore stick. Used to wrap bass rods back when bass kept me interested. Wish me luck, I may have to call the Seadog if I get in over my head.
Then I wanna put a bend in it. Fred |
