Calstar 700H Kicked Butt |
Got an early fathers day present this weekend. Caught 2 Bluefin that were 53" X 90 lbs. Caught them jigging using my 700H that I built last winter. The reel was a Shimano Spheros 14000 with the smooth drag replacement washers. Both fish made an initial run that took well over 100 yds of the OTI 65 lb braid. The rod easily handled the fish. I'm thinking that the rod will handle fish to 125 - 130 lbs.

Fantastic catch! What kind of jig were you using? Did you cut the 700H down?
