I have been reading this form and have got a lot of info from it. well I just registered and have my first question. I was just at the A/C boat show and felt a rod from Lamiglas...the tri-flex. It felt like it was sensitive enough to feel bottom bait fishing...clammin for bass/wreck fishing and strong enough for larger fish. Has anyone any info on this rod? Thanks

i am headed to AC today
.. i built alot on the CGBT blank which is in the triflex..the more i used the rod ..i didnt like the fast tip..for tog or Oldgrounds flukin ..lami came out with a new model its a little lighter in the tip(still not light enough for me) designed for tog here in the NE..for a "production" rod they are ok..there are some other blanks we use instead..i do like the 8' model for jigging tuna and cod, i used that last year and liked it |

Paul thanks for the reply. The one I was looking at was the Majestic series by Sea Isle MA-C84F MM 7' . They said it was the newer blank. I did like the lightness of the tip but that was just on hand pressure. What other blanks/rods do you use instead, for flukin and wreck fishing? Thanks.

CGBT blanks are excellent for inshore fishing.
Whether you like fast action blanks or not depends on your personal taste. I found many fishermen prefer fast action rods. My favorite fluke rod is 6' GLoomis CR723. I like GL2 or GL3 rods better than expensive GLX or IMX as GL2/3 are stronger and light enough. I even use the rod to catch stripers upto 30 lbs range. For togging, I prefer forgiving rod like Lamglass BM 1143 F blank though many like 7' Gloomis rods rated to 40 lbs. |

The blank I was holding was a CGBT 841L. I'd like to pair it with the shimano Trinidad or the Torium. But I am up for suggestions. I just had another fluke rod made which is just a little heavier than my favorite fluke pole...I do not know the blank. The new one is on a Rogue blank MBH 706 7' X heavy. both are paired with shimano 400 30lb braid. I'd like the CGBT to handle clammin for bass/ snagging bunker for bass (lg fish 30-40lb range), 12oz + for fluke in a fast drift, and Ling/cod/blackfish in deep water. I do not know if I am asking a lot for one rod? Thanks.
