Spheros 14000FA vs Spheros 18000 FB

Does any know what the difference are and if the spoils have the same amount of drag washers

i have both models here, spool disassembled. 14000FA has 3 large felt washers, and the 18000fb has 5 smaller dartanium drag washers. i think heat dissipation will be better on the 5 smaller drags, and am changing them to carbontex.

the 14000FA handles very well with carbon fiber upgrade,too. its about to be listed for sale, as I found a stella to upgrade to.

The Smoothdrag web page has an 'FA' upgrade w/ 3 drag washers, and an FB w/ 4 drag washers. Perhaps they mean 5 washers???

Has anyone actually used the new FB out of the box? Do the new drags really need upgraded? Seems like Shimano actually tried to 'fix' the Spheros drag. So did their mods work?
