Saltist v. Sealine X Series

Anyone have any experience with these reels for Jigging? Pros, cons?

New to jigging and trying to find a conventional under $200 to get started. Target species are AJ's, Tuna (most are 25-75#), Wahoo, Kings, etc.....fishing in 50-300 feet in Virginia Beach and Hatteras, NC. Thanks!

The sealine series doesn't have much cranking power. The saltist is probably a better choice.

For jigging, the Saltist is probably the better choice between the two series. After a season of hard fishing, a consideration towards upgrading the drags to carbontex may be a good choice. The stock drags are very good out-of-the-box, but are paper-thin.

I have both and would pick the low gear saltist everyday and twice on sunday.

i have the saltist 40 4.9 with carbontex drag for the money pretty bad a$$.Smooth reel. jigs like a champ

The sealine is a great reel with NO cranking power needed jigging. The saltist is the ticket NO DOUBT. I suggest the 30T filled with 65# braid and a 60# topshot. You can use 80# with an 80# topshot if necessary. The sealines are great for drifting a pogey for kingfish, but don't have the guts for jigging.
